We value the deep relationships we have with our consultants that enable us to place them in roles where their skills will have an immediate impact. The GSG consulting team is comprised of diverse, experienced, driven, and dynamic contributors who excel at getting things done.

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Systems Analyst / SRE / DevOps / Production Support Engineer to join our client’s Digital Assets Operations team supporting the internal applications, including our client’s blockchain-based tokenization platform. The role will have a strong focus on digital asset infrastructure, blockchain node operations, and DevOps support.

The ideal candidate will excel in system monitoring, incident investigation, and troubleshooting across distributed systems. This role requires a strong curiosity-driven mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, production-critical environment.

In addition to operational support, the candidate will contribute to feature rollouts, system improvements, and observability enhancements. The role requires the ability to work onsite three days per week in the Bay Area, ideally in San Ramon or San Mateo. Remote work is not available for this position. Flexibility to support global time zones is essential, as the team operates toward a 24×7 support model.

Responsibilities:

Core Operational Responsibilities

  • Monitor production systems and respond to alerts in a timely and effective manner.

  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues across multiple services, microservices, and cloud platforms.

  • Own incident triage, coordination, and resolution across Dev, Infra, and dependent teams.

  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and drive preventive improvements.

  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to improve system reliability and observability.

  • Support Linux-based production environments and troubleshoot infrastructure and application-level issues.

  • Troubleshoot networking-related issues, including DNS, load balancing, firewall rules, and VPN connectivity.

  • Provide hands-on production support for distributed applications and infrastructure, going beyond ticket resolution to identify and prevent recurring issues.

Digital Assets / Benji Platform Responsibilities

  • Develop techno-functional understanding of tokenized fund workflows (onboarding, transactions, reconciliation, redemptions).

  • Correlate technical issues with business and financial impact (transactions, fund integrity, user experience).

  • Troubleshoot blockchain-integrated systems including node interactions, RPC issues, and on-chain/off-chain inconsistencies.

  • Support blockchain node operations and understand how nodes communicate with and interact with blockchain networks.

  • Support and troubleshoot nodes across public blockchain ecosystems, with experience in at least two of the following preferred: Ethereum/EVM, Stellar, or XRP Ledger.

  • Understand blockchain consensus mechanisms and how they affect node operations, availability, and performance.

  • Monitor and support EOD/batch processing, reconciliation jobs, and financial data flows across systems.

  • Prior experience supporting a live Digital Assets, blockchain, tokenization, or similar production platform is strongly preferred.

  • Apply practical blockchain knowledge to investigate production issues affecting applications, transactions, integrations, and digital asset workflows.

SRE, DevOps & Observability

  • Contribute to operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge sharing.

  • Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs, and improve alerting and monitoring quality.

  • Use observability tools to analyze logs, metrics, and traces, and derive actionable insights.

  • Drive continuous improvement through post-incident reviews and reliability engineering practices.

  • Support containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Support and troubleshoot Kubernetes-managed workloads and related infrastructure.

  • Work with DevOps teams to support access to and operation of CI/CD pipelines.

  • Use observability and monitoring practices to identify infrastructure, application, and node-level issues.

  • Apply hands-on SRE/DevOps practices to improve platform reliability, monitoring, automation, and mean time to resolution (MTTR).

Release, Change & Resilience

  • Support feature deployments, release validation, and post-release monitoring.

  • Participate in change readiness and risk assessments.

  • Contribute to disaster recovery (DR) testing, failover validation, and resilience improvements.

  • Support deployment and release activities across containerized and blockchain-related infrastructure.

Security & Compliance

  • Support identity and access-related troubleshooting (e.g., Okta).

  • Assist in vulnerability management, audit readiness, and secure operations practices.

  • Support secure access and operational controls across infrastructure, cloud, Kubernetes, and CI/CD environments.

AI & Operational Efficiency

  • Leverage AI-assisted tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to improve efficiency in log analysis, incident triage, and documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to use AI/automation agents to streamline repetitive operational tasks and improve MTTR.

  • Apply critical thinking when using AI tools, ensuring accuracy and reliability in production environments.

On-Call & Coverage

  • Participate in on-call rotation to ensure round-the-clock platform support and availability.

  • Respond to production incidents involving infrastructure, applications, Kubernetes environments, and blockchain nodes as part of the on-call rotation.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years experience in systems analysis, operations support, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), with hands-on production support experience.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems with a data-driven approach.

  • Strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting skills.

  • Proficiency with containerization technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience working with cloud platforms and cloud-based infrastructure.

  • Comfort participating in on-call rotations and responding to production incidents.

  • Ability to work onsite three days per week in the Bay Area, ideally in San Ramon.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Azure cloud services.

  • Familiarity with Java and Spring Boot applications.

  • Hands-on experience with Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.

  • Understanding of Okta (Identity & Access Management).

  • Experience working in Kubernetes-managed environments and containerized systems.

  • Exposure to public blockchain ecosystems, nodes, and data analysis tools.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and release automation.

  • Awareness of AI-assisted tools or automation techniques for operational efficiency.

  • Hands-on experience with blockchain node deployment, configuration, monitoring, or troubleshooting.

  • Experience supporting production blockchain infrastructure and resolving node, RPC, connectivity, or synchronization issues.
