At the beginning of this year I wrote about how I saw 2020 as a year of clarity and vision. No small part inspired by the thought of 20/20 vision in the year 2020.

Clearly, the events of this year have challenged that notion, and for the past few months clarity has been scarce — thanks in no small part to the unrelenting news coverage that seems to focus too often on the negatives, with misleading statistics that generate angst and fear in the public perception.

Many of you who have read and commented on our posts and shares know how passionate I am about focusing on the positives and working diligently with each other in the community to find a way to move forward while we deal with the presence of a disease that has gripped the world’s attention.

I am deeply comforted by the fact that by focusing on quality, consistency and communication, Granite Solutions Groupe has been able to pivot quickly and move in lock step with our clients to continue delivering on important projects and initiatives while working from home.

Clarity comes in many different forms, and the vision I have for the future of our country is brighter now than it has been in years. The path ahead is fraught with challenges and difficult national, regional and local conversations, and I feel re-energized to have those conversations with positivity and a focus on solutions to create lasting change.

Looking forward, I am finding the clarity and vision that for a time ran the risk of being replaced by fear and uncertainty. I am inspired by the recent rulings by the Supreme Court that have altered the direction of equal rights and justice for the LGBTQ community and the liberty of hundreds of thousands of people under the protection of DACA.  This Juneteenth holiday is a perfect time to reflect on what we can each do individually to embrace this moment in history and make a difference.

I hope you enjoy our latest newsletter filled with celebration, constructive insights and ideas to keep us all moving in the only direction we can go: FORWARD.
