About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Wealth Implementation Consultant to support Charles River Development (CRD) client implementations. This role is focused on implementing and configuring wealth management technology solutions for clients with high-volume transaction environments, including managed accounts, UMA/SMA programs, model delivery, rebalancing, order management, portfolio accounting, and investment operations workflows.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the wealth management technology space, preferably with Charles River Wealth, Vestmark, Envestnet, SEI Wealth Platform, InvestCloud, or similar managed account platforms. This person should understand the operational, data, trading, and implementation complexities of wealth platforms and be comfortable working with clients, technology teams, product owners, and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead or support implementation workstreams for clients using Charles River Development or comparable wealth platforms.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for wealth workflows, including account onboarding, portfolio construction, model management, trading, rebalancing, restrictions, tax-aware investing, and managed account operations.
- Configure platform functionality to support client-specific investment programs, trading workflows, operational controls, and reporting needs.
- Partner with client stakeholders across front office, middle office, operations, technology, compliance, and data teams.
- Support implementation of IBOR-related workflows, including positions, transactions, cash, holdings, reconciliation, and investment book-of-record processes.
- Analyze and validate high-volume transaction data, including trades, allocations, corporate actions, cash flows, fees, and account-level activity.
- Work with interfaces and integrations involving custodians, accounting systems, market data providers, data warehouses, performance systems, reporting tools, and downstream operational platforms.
- Support data mapping, conversion, migration, testing, and reconciliation activities.
- Develop functional specifications, configuration documentation, test plans, process flows, and implementation playbooks.
- Assist with system testing, user acceptance testing, defect triage, and production readiness activities.
- Provide subject matter expertise on wealth platform operating models, including UMA, SMA, advisor-directed programs, home-office model delivery, overlay management, and outsourced managed account programs.
- Train client users and internal teams on platform workflows, configuration, and operational best practices.
- Identify implementation risks, gaps, and dependencies and help drive timely resolution.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience implementing, supporting, or using wealth management platforms, managed account platforms, portfolio management systems, order management systems, or investment operations technology.
- Direct experience in the wealth management space, preferably supporting high-volume account and transaction environments.
- Experience with one or more of the following platforms is strongly preferred:
- Charles River Development / Charles River IMS / CRD Wealth
- Vestmark
- Envestnet
- SEI Wealth Platform
- Other UMA/SMA, managed account, rebalancing, trading, or model management platforms
- Understanding of IBOR concepts, including positions, transactions, cash, tax lots, reconciliation, accounting basis, and investment data governance.
- Experience with wealth-specific investment workflows such as:
- Model management
- Portfolio rebalancing
- Order generation and trade execution
- Account restrictions
- Tax-aware trading
- Household-level or account-level portfolio management
- Managed account operations
- Custodian integration
- Strong understanding of implementation lifecycles, including discovery, design, configuration, testing, data migration, training, and go-live support.
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and system configuration.
- Experience working with large datasets, transaction files, reconciliation issues, and system integrations.
- Strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across business and technical stakeholders.
