About the Opportunity:

GSG is looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will oversee both Applications and Infrastructure work streams for our clients. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring smooth integration by leveraging your technical proficiency to engage effectively with our skilled software engineers. The ideal candidate will excel in environments characterized by continuous improvement and daily development cycles, and have a proven ability to drive projects to success while upholding stringent quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the project lifecycle from inception to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Work with both Applications and Infrastructure work streams, ensuring seamless integration and communication.
  • Understand technical details and requirements, facilitating clear communication with software engineers at multiple levels.
  • Collaborate with development teams to build applications from scratch, with a strong focus on technical feasibility and scalability.
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including plans, schedules, and status reports.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Manage and thrive in a continuously evolving environment, overseeing daily builds and updates to ensure ongoing development and enhancements are executed.
  • Understand and adapt to the dynamic nature of daily development cycles, ensuring all changes are properly tested and integrated before deployment.
  • Leverage technical background to understand and guide technical aspects of the project.
  • Collaborate with QA engineers and testers to ensure all builds meet quality standards.
  • Implement rigorous testing protocols to prevent untested code from being deployed.
  • Proactively address issues that may impact project timelines or quality.
  • Identify and address resource needs, including additional development and QA resources as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager, with a strong track record of managing complex technical projects.
  • Strong technical background, preferably with experience as a developer or software engineer.
  • Experience outside the banking/finance sector is preferred.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
  • Experience working in an environment where development and deployment occur almost daily.
  • Experience leading and coordinating cross-functional teams and in managing technical resources such as development and QA Engineers/Testers.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Rust, or React is highly desirable.
  • Experience in building applications from scratch, preferably in a tech company setting.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to project management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
