About the Opportunity:

GSG is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Vulnerability Management and BigFix Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities within our IT infrastructure and managing the BigFix environment to ensure effective patching and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Vulnerability Management:
    • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments using various tools and techniques to identify potential security risks.
    • Perform risk analysis to prioritize vulnerabilities based on potential impact and likelihood of exploitation.
    • Develop and implement remediation plans to address identified vulnerabilities, working closely with IT and development teams.
  • BigFix Administration:
    • Manage and maintain the BigFix infrastructure to ensure efficient and effective patch management.
    • Deploy and configure BigFix agents, relays, and consoles.
    • Create, test, and deploy fixlets, tasks, baselines, and other BigFix content.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to BigFix deployment and operation.
  • Patch Management:
    • Perform as primary Patching Specialist in a large enterprise environment.
    • Test new releases of patches to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
    • Work with Account Managers to schedule and apply patches while minimizing impact on business operations.
    • Perform Patch management tasks to include maintaining current knowledge of available patches, deciding what patches are appropriate for particular systems, ensuring that patches are installed properly, testing systems after installation, and documenting all associated procedures.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal or external customers, in written and oral format.
    • Communicate the risk of security vulnerabilities/problematic patch to internal stakeholders.
    • Leverage technology and scripted processes to reduce human interaction in managed processes.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in vulnerability management, BigFix administration, .
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with vulnerability assessment tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS).
    • In-depth knowledge of BigFix, including deployment, configuration, and management.
    • Strong understanding of patch management processes and tools.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
