About the Opportunity:

GSG is seeking a Sr IT Systems Analyst to join our dynamic team. We deliver expert talent for our business partners.

The Regulatory Compliance IT team in San Francisco is looking for a Senior IT Systems Analyst. In this role, the candidate will work with both IT teams and other internal organizations to gather requirements associated with Regulatory Compliance applications. The Senior IT Systems Analyst identifies and communicates business objectives and Information Technology requirements as well as recommendations to assigned stakeholders. This position will be responsible for leveraging advanced analytical, research and problem-solving skills to define innovative technology solutions in cooperation with developers to meet business objectives.

 

The Senior IT Systems Analyst will also perform analysis and design activities on complex IT initiatives by eliciting, defining, validating and translating business, functional, non-functional and business objectives including but not limited to validating such requirements when implemented, as well as preparing status updates on a regular basis to all stakeholders.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Information Technology in order to direct to other internal IT partners or apply those technologies within the department to solve for business needs.  The candidate shall possess the systems experience necessary to influence best practices and processes that provide optimal operational efficiencies. Additionally, a strong and demonstrated strength in supporting Regulatory systems is required as job responsibilities will include supporting other Regulatory and Compliance solutions as needed. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct full software development lifecycle activities to include business requirements, analysis and design.
  • Work with the Business to define and document the overall business process as well as the corresponding system flow. This will include a high degree of interaction with business and operations units to understand the functional needs of the users of the system as well as the various technology teams, both within and outside of FRB, which are responsible for integration points.
  • Build working relationships with the business, cross functional teams and end users is critical to the success of the Sr IT Systems Analyst.
  • Draw out, analyze, validate and manage requirements, flows and deliverables for projects.
  • Act as a liaison between the technical organization business users and vendors.
  • Contribute to overall system design.
  • Evaluate current processes and procedures to ensure relevance, accuracy and opportunities for operational improvements.  Make recommendations for changes and keep documentation current.
  • Specify and fully document application customizations that would bear scrutiny by an internal audit or external regulators.
  • Work with business to understand requirements and help translate them into actionable IT tasks.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Regulatory and Compliance functions.
  • Work closely with the IT team to deliver business requirements and other project deliverables to the PMO.
  • Analyzing data using statistical techniques and providing reports.
  • Acquiring data from primary and secondary sources and maintain data systems.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets.

Requirements:

  •  Proven work experience of 7 – 10 years in SDLC as a system, or data analyst.
  • Strong Analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience working with service management tools such as Jira, business process modeling tools, such as Visio or other collaborations tools.
  • Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, Tableau etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings with flowcharts and presentation decks.
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Management.
  • Resilience and commitment during periods of uncertainty and change.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills e.g. the ability to facilitate group discussions.
  • Able to rapidly acquire a sound high-level understanding of new business and technical domains.

Good to have:

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Expertise in Data Quality and cleansing methodologies and be able to identify/troubleshoot data issues.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Experience in data collection/sourcing techniques with SQL.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Review existing ETL pipelines in Informatica/SSIS to identify/troubleshoot data issues.
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile Techniques.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data management technologies, including Data warehousing and at least one ETL tool.
  • Knowledge of Tableau /Power BI or any BI tool and be able to build and support dashboards is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and SSIS.
  • Ability to document, establish and adhere to standards including source control, software configuration.
  • Good to have cloud platforms experience in AWS/Azure/GCP and working in hybrid environments.
  • Experience with Security (Physical, Data, Information) platforms.
