About the Opportunity:

GSG is seeking a talented Product Manager/Product Owner to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work on one of two critical scopes:

Scope 1: Retrofit Orbis Application’s Legacy Web UI & API

This involves updating the existing user interface and application programming interfaces to leverage the enhanced Data Access Layer (DAL) and the dual compatibility switch. The retrofit will include the integration of end-user relevant metadata to ensure data transparency and usability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the project to modernize the legacy web UI and API.
  • Integrate end-user relevant metadata to ensure data transparency and usability.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with DAL and the dual compatibility switch.

Scope 2: Implementation of Usage Telemetry System

Support the implementation of a Usage Telemetry System on both DAL and SWITCH. This system will collect and make accessible data on how it is accessed and utilized by both internal and external clients, capturing metrics such as frequency of access, volume of data retrieved, and specific data sets accessed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and deployment of the telemetry system.
  • Define and prioritize telemetry features and metrics, including frequency of access, volume of data retrieved, and specific data sets accessed.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights based on telemetry data.

General Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives to integrate data from external data factories into various applications.
  • Deliver data to decision-makers using access layers effectively.
  • Work on data warehouses or data marts, understanding downstream consumers and their data consumption patterns.
  • Manage data access, entitlements, and usage across different sections or domains.
  • Understand the needs and usage patterns of data consumers, ensuring compliance with data supplier agreements and managing associated costs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and align on priorities.
  • Communicate with external clients to understand their needs and ensure the updated system meets their expectations.
  • Prioritize features and improvements based on user needs and strategic goals.
  • Align product strategy with overall business objectives and customer satisfaction.
  • Define and implement QA processes to ensure the highest quality of the updated UI and API.
  • Focus on enhancing the user experience through intuitive design and functionality.
  • Gather and incorporate user feedback to continuously improve the product.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights based on data.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager/Product Owner, preferably in data analytics or software development.
  • Proven experience in retrofitting legacy systems, especially web UI and API.
  • Strong understanding of Data Access Layers and compatibility systems.
  • Experience with implementing telemetry systems for data analysis.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience in the data transparency and usability domain.
  • Knowledge of modern UI/UX design principles.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using product management tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar.
