About the Opportunity:

GSG is seeking a Financial Engineer to join our dynamic team. We are developing and integrating financial engines for our Risk & Finance foundation. The engines leverage the latest in cloud computing to unlock the big opportunities in the financial industry.

This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic analytics, modeling and development team focused on risk management for balance sheet portfolios. These portfolios range from investment securities, retail and commercial deposits, loans, derivatives, and other fixed income products. Successful consultants will partner with business throughout the organization to deliver breakthrough analytical solutions to support a winning strategy in a continually changing business environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Re-engineer the quant libraries through a combination of both analytical and software development skillsets.
  • Collaborate in a cross-disciplinary team to leverage the cloud-based architecture.
  • Help implementing the new library interfaces.
  • Advise other product teams on to integrate with the library effectively.
  • Work with the QFA team to set up testing plans, increase coverage.
  • Help the implementation team and the support team in analytics related questions.
  • Improve documentation.

Requirements:

  • Master’s or PhD in physics, engineering, math, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years’ professional experience in a quantitative/computational environment.
  • Solid knowledge of interest rate models, fixed income, and related financial theory.
  • Strong quantitative skills and complex analytical problem-solving ability.
  • Must have technical/programming skills: C++ or C#, and knowledge of software design best practices.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders, including fundamental and quantitative researchers, technology partners, and senior management.
