About the Opportunity:

GSG is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure seamless business-as-usual data operations:
    • Support and promptly resolve data issues with precision.
    • Execute data pipelines and other operational tasks to meet SLA commitments.
    • Monitor pipelines and data processes, investigating and escalating issues per agreed protocols.
    • Troubleshoot technical problems related to data operations.
    • Respond urgently to internal and external inquiries.
  • Administer Data System 
    • Track usage of data systems.
    • Manage access for internal teams/consumers and conduct audit.
    • Perform cost analysis and report. 
  • Data Infrastructure Management
    • Conduct system administration tasks for the banking data ecosystem (Dremio/Databricks/Sisense, etc.).
    • Be part of the data platform team, serving as a liaison to banking cloud infrastructure team.
    • Manage infrastructure supporting data operations, serving as escalation point to data platform vendors.

Requirements:

  • Must Have:
    • Strong technical skills, including proficiency with databases, SQL skill is essential, and programming languages (Python, Shell script must have).
    • Expertise in source control systems such as GitHub.
    • Proficiency in CD/CI processes and tools, with experience in Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions.
    • Familiarity with data integration and ETL tools like Airflow and dbt.
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Positive and collaborative attitude, capable of operating under pressure.
    • Conduct system administration tasks for the banking data ecosystem (Dremio/Databricks/Sisense, etc.).
    • Clear and proactive communication.
  • Nice to Have:
    • Strong project management skills.
    • Data platform admin experience (e.g., Databricks).
    • Experience with cloud services and infrastructure, such as AWS or Azure.
