About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our team for a critical project: the Logical Data Model Revamping. The ideal candidate will work closely with our senior project manager, and other key leaders to design, implement, and maintain a new logical data model. This role requires expertise in data modeling, tool integration, data governance, and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain a new logical data model.
- Act as an SME providing expert guidance on best practices for data modeling at a logical level.
- Assist the team in selecting, evaluating and integrating a new data modeling tool.
- Maintain the tool and manage change requests and ensure seamless integration with existing systems – Collibra.
- Establish a structured framework for governing data models to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Support the development and implementation of data governance frameworks and policies.
- Develop a structured framework for managing data changes.
- Document and communicate the new data model to business and technical stakeholders.
- Translate complex data models into practical, implementable solutions for engineers.
- Organize and lead stakeholder meetings to gather and document requirements effectively.
- Facilitate meetings between engineering teams and SMEs to discuss project requirements and solutions.
- Create comprehensive documentation of gathered requirements to ensure clarity and alignment.
- Develop and deliver sales enablement materials to support marketing and sales efforts.
- Assist with operational tasks such as enhancing and maintaining reference tables and manual data activities.
- Collaborate with technical teams to implement logical data models in physical databases.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on data modelling.
- Experience in designing and implementing logical data models.
- Background in data governance and operationalization.
- Demonstrable experience in the creation of logical data models and the operationalization of data governance.
- Familiarity with data modeling tools, preferably Collibra, and other data management tools.
- Familiarity with database management systems and data warehousing concepts.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to identify and address complex data-related issues.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of facilitating stakeholder meetings and documenting requirements.
- Experience in selecting and implementing data model tools and migrating data models is advantageous.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to data management.
- Ability to provide insights and recommendations beyond the project leader’s perspective.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
